Football is back. Starting Sunday 30th September from 11:30am the Rhinos are back in training. Initially training will be geared towards rookies (new players) and Rhinos junior squad (15-17) players. All that is required to get started is a pair of boots and a desire to play football. Suitable training gear depending on the weather (shorts/tracksuit bottoms and top etc.) will be fine to get started with.

This training is not mandatory for current Rhinos however anyone who joined during the 2012 season and did not complete a full preseason programme would be encouraged to attend. Training will be open to anybody who wishes to attend, so do not be afraid to get involved.

If you are interested in attending on the 30th (or subsequent Sunday’s) and have not yet been in touch with someone from the team, please visit the contact us¬†page and send us your details.

A weekend mini camp is also in the works with a date and location to be confirmed. Keep your eyes on Twitter and Facebook for updates!

We look forward to seeing you in Castleknock College on the 30th of September! (11:30am)

Rhinos players of old, present and future are invited to attend the Dublin Rhinos 1st Annual Football Combine being held on the 2nd of October at Castleknock College.

The Rhinos are celebrating returning to training towards Shamrock Bowl XXVI with an NFL-style Football Combine.

There will be a number of different drills being run on the day, a selection of which you can see below to whet your appetite.

The 40 yard dash, the meat and potatoes of the combine. This is a straight forward measurement of speed.

The Vertical Jump, how high can you go?

The Broad Jump.

The 20 Yard Shuffle.

The 3 Cone Drill.

So as you can see there is plenty to look forward to on October 2nd. It will give a good indication to ourselves, and indeed to our coaches of the current ability we all possess. Over the course of our preseason we will be aiming to improve our fitness and skill level and we will run a second combine before the start of the season to find out how much we have progressed.

Oh and there is no need to worry, there will be none of this at our comine…

See you on October 2nd folks!

The Rhino’s host the Cork Admirals this coming Sunday, March 27th at 1p.m. (Don’t forget clocks go forward Saturday night, wouldn’t want you to miss the first half!)

The Rhino’s last played the Admirals in the wild card game of the 2010 Season playoffs, that game which took place in Cork’s home ground of CIT saw the Rhino’s come away with their first ever play off victory.

The Rhino’s will look to repeat that result with another win this coming Sunday. We would like all our fans, friends and family to come along and enjoy the day’s football and cheer on the Rhino’s in Castleknock College from 1p.m.

A lot of effort went into marking the pitch in Castleknock for the game Sunday, a lot more effort went into the preparation for beating the Cork Admirals. Come see all our hard work pay off on Sunday and see the finished product of our day’s painting!
