The Rhinos Annual General Meeting for the 2011/2012 Irish American Football League Season was held last night at the Foxhunter Pub, Lucan.

The meeting was attended by over 20 current players and coaches to discuss the path the Rhinos are going to take to Shamrock Bowl XXVI next year.

The current serving board of 5 was re-elected and have retained their positions, they are as follows:

Chairman: Daniel Breslin

Secretary: Barry Bolton

Treasurer: Christine Hayes

Board Member: Stevie Moon

Board Member: Pauly O’ Tooley (it rhymes)

The most hotly discussed topic of the meeting was training. Training for the coming season starts back in  5 Sundays time. October 2nd will see the Rhinos host an NFL-style football Combine for all current and any potential players who wish to join the team. This will be an enjoyable day and a good way to ease back into the training routine.

For current team members, particularly those who missed the meeting, full details will be circulated in the usual manner.

Until then, get practicing your 40 yard dash times because we have a combine coming up!

The West Dublin Rhinos stampeded their way to the Woolshed Baa & Grill, Parnell Street, on Sunday February 6th, 2011. More commonly referred to as Superbowl Sunday.

The Rhinos took over a large reserved area on the night, taking in many of the different food and drinks on offer throughout the night.

Superbowl XLV was enjoyed by over 40 Rhinos, friends & family. A great night was had by all (except our resident Steelers fan, Stevie Moon) as they watched Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in a thrilling 31-25 game that went right down to the final minutes of the game in true Superbowl fashion.

To give you an idea of the celebrations on the night, feast your eyes on some of the pictures below.

Thanks to all who were able to make the AGM at the Spa Hotel last night.

We managed to get through a lot and I hope everyone has a better understanding of how the season will pan out.

There was a few changes made to the make up of the board and a new of new positions were voted on to help improve all aspects of the team.

We now need everyone to give their full effort for the remainder of the preseason.
